Hi, I yesterday installed coherent 4.2.10 from 4 floppy *.dd images, renamed to *.vdf on a *.vdi virtual harddisk attached to an ide controller PIIX4. It was incredible slow on that virtual box. The same with PIIX3.

I let it finishing the filesystem checks over night, and was able to login this morning.

I rebooted it and it sticks at FS check for more than an hour. I shut down the VM in virtual box and changed from PIIX4 to 3 with no difference.

I also disabled com1, audio, USB and the like. I switched from 32MB (coherent detected 12) to 12 (coherent detected 8MB) RAM.

I think it is all about the ide controller, though I'm not sure.

Lots of resets of the IDE controller in vbox log (also attache full zipped log file at the bottom)

Would it run in PCem or 86box smoother and faster? I'm currently under Ubuntu 22.04 LTS and can dual boot into Windows 10. I'm using virtual box 6.1. 7.0 under Windows 10.

Under Linux I could use qemu or bochs.
