Hi! On my Win98SE tower, I used to have a RAMdrive installed. It was called RDSK98V5. Unfortunately, I had to uninstall it because it was causing problems with the graphics driver. 🙁 I really want it, though, as it's faster, and I like RAMdrives. I also want it for my experiments with file compression. I might be able to use XMSDSK, but I want a nonvolatile RAMdrive. I know that RAM drives are volatile, but the old RAM drive could save its contents on shutdown and restore its contents on startup. I can create a directory during startup and use a batch file in the Start menu's startup folder and decompress any files to which I want quick access to the directory. I can create a very large RAMdrive, as the system has 1GB RAM. I guess I have everything set. 😀 Two problems with this approach are that I wouldn't be able to compress the drive, and I can't get UMBs or EMS in Windows mode.
