I'd use, briefly and temporarily of course just for the test, an adapter that lifts the ground (that converts for example 3 pins->2) on the power supplies one by one in order to maybe identify a specific device.

Something is definitely not OK with this ftp, browsing is OK but downloading happens at dial-up speed with constant failures after aprox. 1'. @AngelaTheSephira if you only want a specific file, try some client that will automatically reconnect and resume.
